Hi, thanks for stopping by. My name is Andrew Mendoza a.k.a Annoyin’ Genius (my given Wu tang designation). As a seasoned UX Designer, I aim for user centered design systems that are continuous and tranquil. I approach my work with empathy and collaboration. I specialize in gathering user insights and then crafting engaging user interfaces and experiences.

I’m a senior level UX Designer with nearly 20 years of design experience. I specialize in interaction design, facilitating user generated research and have a strong visual design background. I’ve helped create the story for printed/digital magazines and websites, created and improved bespoke publishing software, launched high volume high traffic websites, and improved point of sale systems that streamlined the experience and made a faster ordering process. I’ve been involved with many redesigns that improved traffic, user experience, and exceeded marketing expectations. I’m looking to tackle new challenges leading design intiatives on a product team and can help an organization succeed through understanding and experience.

Why I Design

I recognize the importance and responsibility of information and it’s accessibility to everyone. Design is an important vehicle to better understand the knowledge around us. I believe design should be equitable, honest and intuitive.

Extra

I’m a San Francisco native residing in Berkeley, CA and just fresh off a year long sabbatical in the Philippines. Alongside design as my passion, I believe in my community for a better lens of equity by establishing family cooperatives.

I enjoy the experience of music – listening, playing and djing. I accept my enthusiasm towards all types of cuisine and unintentionally eat beyond my capacity because it tastes good. As the grandson of a carpenter who worked on cable cars I appreciate fine furnishing and craftsmen style homes.  Also, if you need a point guard or midfielder, i’m your person.
